COURSE OVERVIEW
INSTALLATION RULES (WIREMAN’S LICENSE Paper 1 and Paper 2 programmes are designed to prepare learners for the national exam Installation Rules, which is required as part of the criteria by the Department of Labour to apply to become an installation electrician.
One of the main requirements is for a student to pass a theoretical course called Installation Rules. The examinations are conducted and accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training. To be a qualified a wireman’s license holder you need be register with Department of Labour.
There are three types of registered person’s (wireman’s licences). You can register as:
- Single-phase Tester (Blue Card),
- Installation Electrician (Yellow Card) or
- Master Installation Electrician (Red Card).

This is a course for Master Installers or Installations. The Course is implemented just like Installation Rules 1 & 2. It also has papers 1 & 2.
Pass Mark
The installation Rules examination is made up of two papers, Paper 1 & Paper 2 which candidates must pass with a minimum of 50% each.
